Nordic RCC is looking for Night Shift Operators with resting night shift to support the Green Energy Transition.
Do you thrive with well-defined and specified tasks following firm procedures while still being alert and able to interfere in the process when it sidetracks? Are you open-minded and enjoy working in a diverse and international team? And are you eager to be part of something new and meaningful?
We are expanding our control center hours from 7-21 to 24/7 operability and are looking for several candidates to cover the newly established night shift. If you can say yes to the above, then you may be just the person we are looking for.
Join Nordic RCC, a fast-developing company determined to make a significant impact in the energy sector to support a secure and efficient transition to the green, sustainable energy system.
Nordic RCC – supporting security of supply and the green transition
Based in Copenhagen, the Nordic Regional Coordination Centre (Nordic RCC) embodies a strong Nordic collaboration across the four Nordic Electricity Transmission System Operators (TSOs); Energinet, Statnett, Fingrid and Svenska Kraftnät, and other European Regional Coordination Centers. In this collaboration, we empower the energy market in the Nordics and in Europe, as well as assist the TSOs in maintaining a reliable power supply now and in the future.
Nordic RCC provides calculations and recommendations to the four Nordic (TSOs), with the main aim of our services to ensure transparency and help the TSOs with operational planning to ensure continued security of supply with an increase of renewables in the system. In short: We play a small but important part of enabling the green energy transition.
Who are we looking for?
We are not looking for a specific educational background, but a background in the area of engineering, marine engineering (Maskinmester) or similar technical or data scientific background is preferred. What is more important is the candidate and how you are assessed to fit in the Nordic RCC organization.
As our night shift operator, you will participate in the control center shift roster working hours 20.30-07.00. You will take over from the evening shift when clocking and conduct the shift until the morning shift takes over at 07.00. The night shift function is for the time being a resting night shift, with possibility to sleep at a dedicated area in the Nordic RCC premises for hours with no planned activity. However, if and when alerted during those hours it is your responsibility to enter the control center within minutes and perform the tasks as needed in the situation.
Key responsibilities for the night shift operator role will be:
As part of your training and to stay up to date on processes, you will most likely also participate in day and evening shifts from time to time.
Additionally, and depending on the candidate:
Additional tasks to the operator role can be expanded to other areas within operational back-office tasks or project work within planned operational hours depending on the profile and qualifications of the candidate.
Other tasks can be:
We expect that you are excellent at working within structured patterns, while at the same time have the ability to maneuver within a huge specter of corner cases agile and independently.
You are structured and can appreciate a fast-paced environment from time to time. On a personal level you are open-minded, team-oriented and take responsibility.
Nordic RCC is an international office, so fluency in spoken and written English is required as well as a motivation for working in an international environment.
The job requires security clearance which will be facilitated by Nordic RCC.
An international and flexible working environment
You will join an organization of competent, diverse, and enthusiastic colleagues of 21 nationalities in a team of young, diverse, and enthusiastic colleagues.
You will work in direct virtual contact with the operators from the Nordic TSOs. Your daily workplace will be in our newly furnished office premises in Copenhagen Towers, Ørestad.
